Selective Disinfection Based on Directional Ultraviolet Irradiation and Artificial Intelligence

Ultraviolet disinfection has been proven to be effective for surface sanitation. Traditional ultraviolet systems generate omnidirectional radiation, which introduces safety concerns regarding human exposure. Large scale must performed without humans present, limits the time efficiency of disinfection. We propose and experimentally demonstrate a targeted system using combination robotics, lasers, deep learning. The uses laser-galvo camera mounted on two-axis gimbal running custom learning algorithm. This allows radiation applied any in room where it is mounted, algorithm ensures that laser targets desired surfaces avoids others such as humans. Both were tested
